Dow Corning® Silicon Fluids, High Performance

Dow Corning Silicon Fluids are high-performance, liquid lubricating materials that demonstrate excellent performance over a wide temperature range. They are used in heat baths, as a damping medium, and can also be formulated into greases or pastes.

Dow Corning® 510 Fluid

Primary Use – Low-temperature lubrication; base oil for greases.
Special Characteristics – Resists salts, dilute alkalis, dilute acids; wide service temperature range; water repellent.
Physical Form – Phenyl methyl silicone fluid; available in 50, 100 and 500 CS (30,000 CS available in 8- and 40-LB container sizes).
Applications – Base oil for greases; damping fluid for instruments; lubricating leather diaphragms and plastic bearings used at low temperatures; heat baths, calibration baths.
Temperature Range – From -60 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (-51 to 204 degrees Celsius).
Container Sizes – 8-, 40- and 440-LB (3.6-, 18.1- and 199.5-KG) containers.

Dow Corning® 550 Fluid

Primary Use – High-temperature lubrication; base oil for greases.
Special Characteristics – Good shear stability; resists radiation and oxidation; wide service temperature range; desirable heat transfer characteristics.
Physical Form – 125 CS phenyl methyl silicone fluid.
Applications – Base oil for greases; heat transfer medium in baths; thermostat fluid; lubricating clocks, oven timers, parking meters, high-temperature instruments.
Temperature Range – From -40 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to 232 degrees Celsius).
Container Sizes – 9-, 45- and 485-LB (4-, 20.4 and 220-KG) containers.

Dow Corning® 710 & 710R Fluids

Primary Use – Heat transfer fluid; high-temperature lubricating oil; base fluid for high-temperature lubricating grease.
Special Characteristics – Exceptional heat stability; resist evaporation, oxidation, radiation.
Physical Form – 500 CS phenyl methyl silicone fluid (Dow Corning 710R Fluid contains a rust inhibitor).
Applications – Lubricating timing devices, instruments, bearings; base fluid for greases.
Temperature Range – From 0 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to 260 degrees Celsius).

Dow Corning® FS-1265 Fluid

Primary Use – Lubricating in harsh environments; high-temperature hydraulic fluid; base fluid for lubricating greases.
Special Characteristics – Resists oxidation, harsh chemicals, fuels, high temperatures.
Physical Form – Fluorosilicone fluid; available in 300, 1000 and 10,000 CS.
Applications – Lubricating fluid in vacuum pumps handling reactive gases, in high- and low-temperature bearings, in bearings subjected to washing by fuels or solvents; base oil for fluorosilicone greases.
Temperature Range – From -40 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to 204 degrees Celsius).

Dow Corning® 20 Release Coating

Primary Use – Release agent for plastics, glues and other elastomeric products.
Special Characteristics – Solvent dilutable; durable; heat stable; noncarbonizing; nonoily.

Applications – Releasing epoxies, melamines, methacrylates, phenolics, polyesters, polyurethanes; releasing silicone-glass laminates, tubes, parts made from silicone molding compounds.
